Safety isn't a program at Spire. It's a core value.

As a company, we're committed to protecting people, property and the environment we all share. It's a responsibility that defines who we are and what we do. Because we believe that the safe way is the only way.

Natural gas pipelines are an important part of our communities. And the U.S. Department of Transportation agrees they're the safest mode of energy transportation in the world. Safer than rail and trucks, with fewer emissions.

We're committed to safety, every step of the way.

From monitoring and surveillance to routine inspections and maintenance, we work around the clock to ensure the safety of our operations. With the Spire STL Pipeline, we’ll top our already high standards to ensure your safety. This pipeline will be built to use in-line inspection tools to clean, inspect and monitor the integrity of the pipeline.

Safety in the local environment

Natural gas pipelines have proven remarkably resistant to Mother Nature. Because of their location and materials, natural gas pipelines can weather even large events like tornadoes and small earthquakes. Pipeline markers with emergency contact information will be placed after construction is completed and the project is placed into service. We will work with local communities and emergency responder groups to make sure we are prepared for anything, anytime.
