Spire donates school supplies to students at St. Louis Public Schools

Hundreds of bags of essential supplies shared with students at the seventh annual event

This week, a large group of Spire employees headed to several elementary schools in St. Louis to hand out 700 bags filled with notebooks, pencils, colored pencils, snacks and other goodies to students as they kicked off the school year. Students at Woodward, Ashland and Oak Hill elementary schools were excited to collect their bags and interact with Spire employees.

The school supply giveaway launched in 2015 as part of Spire's commitment to advancing communities. The St. Louis Public Schools staff said this effort is appreciated every year.

"Our population has so many needs and challenges," St. Louis Public Schools Marketing Coordinator Kate Stewart said. "We really value Spire's ongoing commitment to lending a hand to those who can use it most. Providing these supplies to our children does just that."
