Signing Day 2026: Three students join Spire’s Cooperative Education Program

Three students from Ranken Technical College and Jefferson College recently joined Spire’s Cooperative Education Program, taking the first step toward a career in energy.
During a special “Signing Day” ceremony on Feb. 25, the students committed to the two-year program as their families, college leaders and Spire employees cheered them on.
Recognized as an official Missouri apprenticeship, the program blends classroom learning with real-world experience. Students work alongside Spire technicians in the field to build practical skills they’ll need to thrive in the workforce.
Spire launched the program in 2020 to help address the growing need for skilled workers in the natural gas industry. Since the program first began, Spire has hired more than a dozen co-op participants into full-time service technician roles.
The 2026 co-op participants include Jefferson College students Reilly Brand and Julian McGinnis, as well as Ranken student Yusuf Hared.
