NourishKC doesn’t just dream of a community where all people have equal access to nutritious food, they actively work to make this vision a reality.

Through their team’s efforts, they’ve made significant strides in combating food insecurity and promoting nutrition, ensuring that individuals and families have access to healthy meals and the resources needed to thrive. That’s why they were awarded one of four InSpire Awards during a recent presentation at their community kitchen.

Spire created the InSpire Awards to recognize organizations with outstanding contributions to enriching lives and fueling stronger, more vibrant communities.

“I’m honored to present NourishKC with this InSpire Award on behalf of Spire. NourishKC operates the Kansas City Community Kitchen, which has been serving hot, nutritious meals to all who come—with no questions asked—for more than 12 years. The efforts of NourishKC, their dedicated staff and community volunteers are helping to address the issue of food insecurity in the community,” said Shaylyn Dean, Spire’s director of external affairs and NourishKC board member.
